The awards ceremony, organized by the Central Environmental Authority (CEA), was held on October 23, 2025, at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) under the distinguished patronage of the Honourable Anura Kumara Dissanayake, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. This prestigious national event aims to honour individuals and institutions demonstrating an exceptional commitment to environmental sustainability, going beyond conventional practices to champion conservation and protection.
Three Facilities Win Top Honors
At this year’s event,three of our facilities were recognized for their exceptional environmental stewardship in the category of Common waste treatment & management, processing/ recycling plant -Type A & B
- Growrite Substrates was awarded the coveted Gold Award
- Two Tropicoir Lanka facilities were recognized with Merit Awards
These accolades are a powerful testament to our commitment to responsible manufacturing and our core belief that no resource is ever truly waste. They celebrate the dedication of our teams and the innovative processes that allow us to champion environmental conservation and protection
Our success is built on the inherent sustainability of our operations, where we utilize coconut husk and peat by products of the coconut industry as our core valuable resource. Furthermore, our dedication to adopting international benchmarks, including ISO 14001 certification, and strategic efforts to minimize our footprint through the careful tracking of our GHG emissions, ensures we meet the highest sustainability standards and walk the talk in environmental stewardship. This comprehensive approach is all thanks to the hard work of the entire TEG team.
